Proton Perdana 2013/2014: Official Malaysia’s Government Car


The New Proton Perdana 2013 / 2014 was launched as the Government’s Official Car. The Perdana replacement model is adapted from the 8th generation Honda Accord and will be used only as the official car of the government at this moment.

Proton Perdana 2013/2014:

Features & Specs: The new version of the Proton Perdana comes in two variants, namely the Perdana 2.0 L and 2.4 L, with improved security features and comfort. Prominent changes on front include a new Proton grille as well as a completely new bumper design. Proton Perdana Replacement gets a new alloy wheel design. On the rear, the tail lamp elements on the boot lid have been removed.

The Perdana replacement model slated for use by the Federal Government comes under Phase One of Proton’s plans to develop a new D-segment model. The carmaker has already began Phase Two of the programme which involves the further development of the D-segment model under a platform-sharing initiative with Honda. This will have a completely new interior with exterior changes which will be unveiled to the Malaysian market in 2016. This would mean that Proton will, at a later stage, offer the model for sale to the Malaysian public and not restrict it to just government sales.

The first phase of the Perdana replacement model project, which will consist of 3,000 units for government use. The initial delivery is 200 units, with the remaining to be delivered on a staggered basis.


Proton Perdana for Public:

New Proton Perdana will be unveiled to the Malaysian market in 18 to 24 months’ time, and will be sold to the public.
