BR1M 2015: Additional RM300 for BR1M 4.0 Recipients

Recipients of Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M 2015) next year will be receiving another RM300 on top of the BR1M payment which will be announced in the tabling of 2015 Budget later this year.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the one-shot additional payment is meant to absorb the expected 1.8 per cent rise in the Consumer Price Index following the planned implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in April next year.

Speaking to reporters after opening the new Rahim & Co office here today, Ahmad said the CPI is expected to be stabilised within five to six month after the implementation of GST.

He added that the one-shot increase in the CPI was a norm for countries that started to implement the GST.
